Lesson 3: Collaborative Research

This lesson explores the concept of collaborative research, looking specifically at how this approach is being used to assist decision-making for the future of the Great Bear Sea through the Marine Planning Partnership (MaPP), with examples of partnerships between communities, First Nations and academic researchers. Students explore the concept of Traditional Knowledge, and look at some examples from the region, considering how this knowledge is critical to future planning, and particularly ecological planning that is connected to place.
